Cherry Creek offers a commercial center for the community, offering over 300 businesses, including art shops, restaurants and the largest collection of locally owned retailers in the city in a bustling district between University Boulevard and Adams Street. Before becoming part of Denver in 1895, Cherry Creek was an impoverished town known as Harman and home to many of the area’s earliest African American homesteaders. Arts Festival and the Fresh Market
“There is the Cherry Creek Arts Festival every summer, which is one of the premier arts festivals in Colorado. It’s huge. They have art vendors all throughout the streets,” says Christine Belin, a Denver local and Broker Associate at Evernest, LLC, with over 10 years of experience. “They also have a great farmers market all summer long in the parking lot of the mall.” An essential summer staple of community culture, the festival features live music and outdoor art galleries at Cherry Creek North. Proceeds from the festival benefit the city’s arts curriculum in education. The neighborhood's Fresh Market is a Saturday event with locally grown produce and food from local businesses. Residents visit the Sidewalk Sale to look for pop-up stands outside storefronts adorned with red balloons, marking discounted prices from retailers to prepare for a new autumn inventory. The Holiday Market is a winter craft fair where the community rings in the season at the Cherry Creek Shopping Center.

Excellent education and Bromwell's long history
Kids tend the garden to harvest fresh produce for the cafeteria at Bromwell Elementary School, which receives an A-minus overall grade according to Niche. Bromwell is one of the oldest schools in Denver, with roots in the 1860s, although it was demolished and rebuilt in the 1970s. Middle-school students take courses centered around sustainable energy, introductory engineering or robotics at Hill Campus of Arts & Sciences, which has a B-plus overall grade. Denver East High School is the #11 best public high school in Colorado, with an overall grade of A. Students at Denver East join one of the 82 campus organizations, such as the Improv Club, Rollerskating Club or the Greenhouse Club.

Cherry Creek and Pulaski Park
The shady trail runs parallel to the trickling creek at Cherry Creek Park. The Cherry Creek Trail begins inside the city and stretches over 40 miles southeast, ending in Cherry Creek State Park, making it a popular route for biking and exercise.
