The park also has engraved historical displays and other elements to observe throughout the walk.
From Hampden Heights Park, outdoor enthusiasts can take the trail through the city to reach Cherry Creek, a rushing waterway by a 40-mile trail that hikers can take all the way north through downtown Denver or southeast to the Cherry Creek State Park. Four miles away, the state park provides more trails and beaches by a large lake reservoir. “We have the mountains and great trails. I grew up going to the Cherry Creek Reservoir to boat and water ski with my family,” says Chris Kiker, a longtime local and a Real Estate Agent at Keller Williams Realty DTC in Centennial. “Even with my friends, we would go fish on the dock. I actually worked at the marina down there when I was in high school, and I took sailing lessons there in middle school. I spent a lot of time there growing up. There’s a lot to do in that area. We’re going there with our Cub Scout troop this spring.”
