A collection of ranch and cottage-style homes
This large community's residential streets branch out from Route 53, a four-lane thoroughfare that cuts through the neighborhood’s core. Lot sizes vary from about a fifth of an acre to one acre. Because of this, buyers have options regarding how close they want their prospective home to be to another. Ranch and cottage-style homes sell between $110,000 and $435,000. Larger homes on larger lots sell between $435,000 and $675,000.Spend a Saturday at Miller Hill Mall
Highway 53 is the neighborhood’s commercial strip, and Miller Hill Mall, at the junction of Highway 51, is the focal point. More than 90 stores occupy the mall space, from American Eagle to Zumiez. Nearby, such big box retailers as Target, Best Buy and Aldi have the home essentials and weekly groceries covered.. Folks can end the day with a sit-down meal from Olive Garden or Grandma’s Saloon.A hike through Web Woods or a quick game at the park
The aptly named Duluth Heights Park is at the center of it all. Baseball and softball outfields double as soccer fields in different seasons, and an outdoor ice rink opens during the colder months. The park's recreation center plays host to indoor sports, fitness and social activities. “The community can rent it out,” says Realtor Macey Solomon of F.I. Salter Real Estate, Inc.. “They have parties and school dances there.” Half a mile east, folks can hike through Web Woods, a wooded natural path that loops for roughly four-tenths of a mile. Farther south, there’s the city-run Enger Park Golf Course, a 27-hole public facility that recently underwent an upgrade to its irrigation system. Rice Lake Reservoir is a 2,500-acre lake with camping and boating facilities just to the north of the neighborhood.Commuting into Downtown Duluth and beyond

Despite its proximity to downtown, Duluth scores an 82 out of 100, or “calm,” rating from First Street for its low level of noise. Folks can board the bus at one of several stops along Route 194 and be downtown in 15 minutes. The 3-mile stretch takes about 6 minutes if commuting by car. Commuting by bus into Superior can be done, but the 10-mile trip lasts just over an hour. Delta Air Lines and United Airlines serve Duluth International Airport, which is immediately adjacent to the neighborhood.Cold winters in Duluth
