Growing suburb near Apple
North Laguna is a growing suburb about 16 miles from Sacramento. Just north of Elk Grove, people are flocking to the area for good jobs, strong schools and plenty of new shopping options. “There are some great job opportunities in Elk Grove, especially for younger people, and a lot of them choose to live here because it’s closer to Sacramento,” says Jonathan Lee of Portfolio Real Estate, who has sold over 80 properties in the Elk Grove area. These job opportunities include work at an Apple corporate office, which employs over 5,000 people. Others find employment at one of two Kaiser Permanente locations or the ALLDATA LLC software headquarters. The median age for North Laguna residents is 34, younger than many surrounding areas.

Mediterranean homes on large lots
The neighborhood features a mix of ranch-style homes, tri-level and modern Mediterranean-inspired homes. Houses are clustered into secluded subdivisions with quiet, residential roads. Prices range between $400,000 and $580,000, depending on the size and age of the property. “It’s more affordable than the northern side of Elk Grove, so it’s good for some first-time owners,” says Lee. Homes sit on spacious lots and have sizeable yards. Private parking is not an issue as houses offer driveways and attached multicar garages. Paved sidewalks make it easy to walk to a neighbor’s home, but residents need a car to get around. Flooding is possible near North Laguna Creek, but most homes are not in danger.
