Residents can find a variety of retailers and restaurants along Elk Grove Boulevard. “This part of Elk Grove definitely has more of an old town feeling,” Witham says. “There are more local boutiques and restaurants on this side of the city.” Popular spots include the family-owned Palermo Ristorante Italiano, which serves Sicilian fare with a full bar menu, and Old Town Pizza and Tap House, a neighborhood pizzeria that has games and trivia nights. Bel Air is down the street for groceries, and big-box stores such as Walmart and Costco are west of the area along Elk Grove Boulevard.

Proximity to Sacramento and transit options
The area is bordered by California state Route 99 on the west side, and Interstate 5 is farther west. Downtown Sacramento and Sacramento International Airport are approximately 20 miles and 30 miles north, respectively. Sacramento Regional Transit provides public bus transportation in the city, and multiple bus stops are along Elk Grove Florin Road. Offering comprehensive care and emergency services, Sutter Medical Plaza Elk Grove is about 5 miles northwest.Cultural events in Elk Grove
The city organizes various events throughout the year, ranging from music festivals to celebrations for holidays such as Independence Day and Lunar New Year.
