Every Wednesday night at the Southern Grille is “muskrat night,” where patrons enjoy locally sourced muskrat. Residents can pick up some snacks and groceries from the Dollar General and Royal Farms in town, and the nearest supermarket is Food Lion, 6 miles east in Milton.

Ellendale is about 30 miles south of Dover and roughly 35 miles north of Salisbury. Ellendale’s nearest medical center is Bayhealth Hospital’s Sussex Campus, 7 miles north. Forty miles south, Salisbury Regional Airport offers flights to domestic and international destinations.
