At the center of entertainment and interstate access
Cheers from Oregon Ducks fans roar through Autzen Stadium, widely considered one of the loudest stadiums in college football because of its Pringle-like shape. The stadium sits next to Alton Baker Park—the largest developed green space in Eugene—in the Harlow neighborhood, which offers plenty of entertainment aside from Saturday games. The riverfront park has running and biking trails and hosts live music and art festivals, while local restaurants pepper the neighborhood’s several shopping centers. With access to two interstates, Harlow blends convenience with entertainment.
Two malls and more than five grocery options
Harlow is ripe with shopping and dining, bordered by two major shopping centers on either side. “Oakway Center is where Trader Joe’s is, and that’s the only Trader Joe’s in Eugene,” says Steve Wickham, a broker with Team Wickham of United Real Estate. The shopping plaza also has a Nordstrom Rack, Salt & Straw—one of Wickham’s favorite ice cream shops—and Sabai, an award-winning restaurant that serves Pacific Rim cuisine. Hawaiian Time offers a more casual experience with authentic Hawaiian lunches, while Buddy’s Diner serves classic American breakfast and burgers in a retro setting.
Residents have numerous grocery options along Coburg Road; Safeway and Market of Choice are less than a mile and a half away from the Oakway Center, while Costco Wholesale and WinCo Foods are farther north. On the other side of the neighborhood, The Shoppes at Gateway shopping plaza includes Cabela’s, Target, Marshalls and Ulta Beauty, and locals can catch a movie at the Cinemark theater next door.
Trader Joe's is a favorite spot for residents of Harlow to shop for all their grocery needs.

Live music and football games near the Willamette River
The 373-acre Alton Baker Park, on the banks of the Willamette River, anchors the Harlow neighborhood. A few of the park's amenities include a designated dog park, a disc golf course, a boat ramp and the Emerald Valley BMX park, as well as Pre’s Trail, named after University of Oregon runner, Steve Prefontaine, who competed in the 1972 Olympics. Bike paths weave through the park too, following two bridges across the river and connecting to the Ruth Bascom Bike Path that runs through downtown and the University of Oregon campus. Live music reverberates from the Cuthbert Amphitheater, though nearby Autzen Stadium may be considered the real center of entertainment in the neighborhood. Home to the Oregon Ducks, the stadium fills with green- and yellow-clad fans during football games, with the university’s baseball and soccer fields also nearby. Several smaller green spaces and pocket parks dot the neighborhood too, like Striker Field Park, which has tennis courts, a sand pit, a summer “spray play” area and a small amphitheater.
