Shop, dine, and explore; Groveport's vibrant downtown caters to every lifestyle.
A small-town feel right outside of Columbus
It has a small-town feel while still being close to the big-city amenities of Columbus. Living in the southeast suburb of Groveport is also sandwiched between two Metro Parks. The Groveport area is close to a large industrial area. The Rickenbacker Industrial Park is home to an 800,000-square-foot Amazon Fulfillment Center and a warehouse for the Gap clothing chain. “That area has just exploded in recent years,” says Marylee Bendig, a real estate agent at Howard Hanna Real Estate Services. “Anything in that general proximity to living in Groveport would be attractive to potential buyers.”
Proximity to two Metro Parks and other green spaces
Being close to the outdoors and parks is one of the big draws to living in Groveport. “The proximity to two Metro Parks is a big deal,” Bendig says. “Post-COVID, buyers are seeking more outdoor activities with bicycle paths and walking trails.” The 1,100-acre Three Creeks Metro Park gets its name from being at the confluence of Alum, Blacklick and Big Walnut creeks. The park features eight trails that vary in length. It’s also the start of the Alum Creek Greenway Trail, which mainly follows Alum Creek for 25 miles. Walnut Woods is even bigger at 1,455 acres and has five trails ranging from a half-mile to close to three miles. All the paths are classified as easy and some run through wetlands. For outdoor recreation on a much smaller scale, there’s Degenhart Park with three lighted tennis courts, a picnic shelter and a playground among its three-and-a-half acres.
Well maintained playground equipment is offered at Elk Run Park.
There are plenty of opportunities in Groveport for outdoor recreation.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
