Small-town living with textile history and peaceful charm
Hannah’s Mill is a quiet community in Upson County set just outside the larger town of Thomaston. Home to around 3,300 residents, the suburb has roots in the local textile industry and historic ties to the oldest domestic sheet mill in the U.S, Thomaston Mills. Today, residents appreciate the relaxed pace and neighborly feel, making it a comfortable spot for long-time families and newcomers who value small-town living. "Most of us just consider Hannah's Mill a part of Thomaston," says Realtor Judy Greene with Berkshire Hathaway. "We all shop at the same places and the kids all go to the same schools. The main difference is that it's a bit quieter on this side of town."
Heritage ranch-style and Craftsman homes
Homes in Hannah’s Mill often stay in families for generations. "It's relatively uncommon to see new homes come on the market here," says Greene. The housing stock includes older ranch-style with brick exteriors and Craftsman-style homes, as well as thoughtfully renovated houses that date back to the early 1900s. Home prices here typically range between $200,000 and $350,000. The priciest homes exceed 2,000 square feet, while homes on the lower end of the price range tend to be between 1,400 and 1,600 square feet.
