City Parks, local skiing and hiking

Outdoor living is a big draw to Heber. “People are attracted to the close proximity to urban amenities and majestic mountain beauty,” says Ryan Bunnell, Public Information Officer of Heber City. The city maintains nine parks of varying sizes, providing playgrounds and picnic spaces across the city. Compass Plaza, a newer park, offers a summer splash pad. Deer Creek, Strawberry and Jordanelle Reservoirs are within a 25-mile radius. At each reservoir, visitors can swim, boat and fish. Park City, a premier skiing destination, is 17 miles to the north. Some neighborhoods, like Red Ledges, offer partnerships with nearby ski resorts. More fishing and hiking can be found at the Provo Riverwalk.
