Golden Arrow Ranchos is close to High Desert amenities
The Golden Arrow Ranchos neighborhood sits in the heart of Southern California’s High Desert region. Palm and Joshua trees burst out of the sandy terrain, which give the area an Old West country feel. However, Interstate 15 runs just a few blocks away, so big-box shopping, restaurants and services are accessible within minutes. Due to Hesperia’s proximity to the Cajon Pass, a central corridor through the mountains between Southern California and Las Vegas, the area has historically been a stop frequented by truck drivers and railroad workers. Now, people settle into neighborhoods like Golden Arrow Ranchos for convenience to everyday amenities in a rustic, desert atmosphere.

Though plenty of fast-food chains and sit-down restaurants are scattered throughout the nearby shopping centers, many popular dining choices operate along Main Street in downtown Hesperia. Havanazucar Cuban Restaurant serves authentic Caribbean dishes, and Honeymoon Tea Bar sells milk tea and mochi.

Relatively low home prices for the Inland Empire
The housing market primarily consists of ranch-style homes, many of which have Spanish architectural influences. Some lots have enough space to house horses and recreational vehicles. Properties are usually fenced in, and a dusting of sand lines the roads. Prices typically start at just under $300,000 and can reach $650,000 for more land and newer construction. “People come in from the west, near Los Angeles and Orange County, where homes are three times as much, sometimes four times as expensive,” says Oscar Garcia, a real estate broker with Century 21, who has worked in the area for over three decades. “The affordability is what’s driving people to move.”

From small outdoor gathering spaces to expansive parks and lakes
Golden Arrow Ranchos sits close to many of Hesperia’s and the High Desert’s parks and recreation areas. “Outdoor activities are pretty big,” Garcia says. “Whether they take place in the desert or the several ranges of mountains.” The Hesperia Civic Plaza Park provides a gathering space with a playground, bocce ball courts and an amphitheater. Hesperia Community Park features eight baseball fields, and food trucks come out on busy game days. Residents looking to escape into nature for a day trip can head about 20 miles south to the fully recreational Silverwood Lake or just north to Mojave Narrows Regional Park for its impressive display of wildlife and amenities, such as disc golf and climbing rocks. Hesperia Lake Park is a popular spot for fishing, camping and horseback riding. Golfers can choose from numerous courses within a 10-mile radius, and people go off-roading in nearby locations throughout the desert.
