This neighborhood is too spread out to be walkable, but that means homeowners get a lot of privacy. Some roads are paved and some are unpaved. Homes built in the 90s and the mid-20th century are chiefly ranch-styles with Spanish Revival influences, such as tile roofs and stucco siding. Prices range from about $500,000 to $780,000. Land parcels are also on the market at various acreage amounts. Some contain groves of fruit trees for around $800,000, while others contain large swaths of undeveloped land for around $263,000.Local restaurants along State Route 38
Though much of the neighborhood is pastoral, shopping and dining is just a few miles down State Route 38. In addition to selling spirits and local goods, Greenspot Market is known for their various flavors of beef jerky. Heska's Sugar Shack gets rave reviews for its homey atmosphere and live music on Fridays, while Mill Creek Cattle Company is a popular Old West-themed barbeque spot. Locals stop at Arnott Farms, known for the best citrus in town, to stock up on homegrown produce. Additionally, "We're expecting a lot of new wineries over the next few years, which will be a big draw," says Brooks Bailey, Real Estate Specialist at Active Realty with over 13 years of experience in the southern California region. Stater Bros. Markets in Redlands Village shopping center supplies the area with groceries.History of fires

The San Bernardino County Fire Department services the area with assistance from Redlands Fire Department.Car-dependent neighborhood
Mentone has an accessible-yet-removed quality thanks to its location just east of San Bernadino. California State Route 38 is the neighborhood’s main road, leading west to Redlands, Interstate 10 and San Bernardino. Heading east, this road goes through the San Bernardino Mountains to various hiking trails, campsites and Big Bear Lake. The nearest hospital, Dignity Health Community Hospital of San Bernardino, is about 20 miles away. San Bernardino International Airport is about 12 miles west.
