Kings Park West is an amenity-rich community with highly rated schools
Kings Park West has a selection of communities with single-family homes, spacious lawns, and communal amenities such as pools, playgrounds, and clubhouses. Parks and greenspaces can be found within a short drive of every residential area, along with some of the best public schools in the country.
Single-family homes with large yards and active communities
The residential areas of Kings Park West are spread throughout the neighborhood, but you’ll commonly find communities of midsize to large single-family homes with larger yards than you’d find closer to Washington, D.C. Some communities of town houses can also be found in the area. The median price of a single-family home is around $725,00, but town houses can be found for around $550,000. In the many single-family home communities, you’ll find a 4-bedroom split-level or ranch-style home for around $750,000.
“You’ll find these communities to be very involved,” says local realtor Cathy Beckett, “in the summer, you’ll find people gathering for holidays and swim team.” For those interested In Golf and have a slightly higher price point, you may consider finding a home around the Country Club of Fairfax. “It’s private, but for those interested, the club has facilities for golf, tennis, swimming, you name it,” says Beckett. Around the club, you’ll find large Colonial Revival and Federal-style homes for over $1 million. It is worth noting that the market in Kings Park West is quite competitive. “Many people are drawn here for work in D.C. and Arlington, so houses go quickly,” says Beckett.
Highly rated public schools are a major draw
Aside from the location, the highly regarded public schools draw many people to the neighborhood. The Fairfax County Public Schools system is graded an overall A by Niche, so you can’t go wrong with school placement. Students begin at Laurel Ridge Elementary School, graded an A-minus by Niche, or Little Run Elementary School, graded an A by Niche. After elementary, students attend Frost Middle School, which received an A from Niche. Finally, students complete their education at Robinson Secondary School, graded an A by Niche, or Lake Braddock Secondary School, which received a remarkable A-plus from Niche. Niche also ranked Lake Braddock the No. 2 and Robinson the No. 3 best magnet school in Virginia. Many students are attracted to Lake Braddock for their diverse selection of electives and clubs. Students here can expand upon their interests, such as medicine or aerospace engineering.
Community pools and a local park gather residents for recreation
Wherever you are in the neighborhood, you will find public amenities like pools, playgrounds and parks close to your home. “The community pools in the area are a beautiful way for new residents to meet people and find activities,” says Beckett. In the summer, residents often gather at community pools for neighborhood parties or swim practice. Lakeside Park is another local favorite where you’ll see people taking a stroll or playing with their pups around Lake Royal.
