Trendy Trendwood draws buyers to midcentury homes in East Lincoln
At first blush, trendy might not seem like the best word to describe the East Lincoln neighborhood of Trendwood. After all, its homes were mostly built around the mid-1970s, and its vibe is stable and established. But when buyers look more closely, they discover fashionable conveniences, updated amenities and homes that sell quickly.
Trendwood’s larger-than-starter-home residences often come to market with modern-day updates and renovations, said Chase Collier, a Realtor with BHHS Ambassador Real Estate. “Homes sell quickly, and part of that reason is that homeowners here are house-proud,'' he said. "Trendwood homes are often in top shape inside and out. It sets them apart and makes the buyers’ job easier than they might have expected.”
Likewise, updates to the neighborhood, in the form of community investment, aren't hard to find, either. A renovated stadium hosts high school football games for Lincoln varsity teams. Two city parks show off newly paved walking trails and updated playgrounds, and golf courses are nearby.
“Trendwood is a hot neighborhood for savvy buyers and investors,'' Collier said. "They want nice parks, updated homes, nearby shopping and dining and easy access to Downtown Lincoln or Omaha – and Trendwood has it.”
