A neighborhood in the heart of the city within walking distance of the ocean
Downtown Long Beach is home to the city’s most iconic features, from the Queen Mary and Aquarium of the Pacific to the waters of Queensway Bay and boats docked in the slips of Shoreline Marina. Residents of the impressive Downtown high-rises enjoy city and ocean views and accessibility to the city’s many amenities. Restaurants and small businesses vie for space in Downtown’s competitive retail scene. And those who live there are surrounded by some of the city’s most sought-after amenities. “It’s attractive to people who want to live in a full amenities area who don’t want to manage a house or a backyard,” says Long Beach resident and Vista Sotheby's International Realty real estate agent Nancy Deprez. “You’re moving there for the lifestyle.”

Dozens of diverse restaurants within walking distance
“There are over 15 coffee shops and a ton of great restaurants, so you have your pick,” says Asia Morris, Communications & Marketing Manager at Downtown Long Beach Alliance. “Day-to-day living here would include walking to get your coffee at a local shop and running errands at a mom-and-pop shop like Anna’s Joint. You might go to yoga at Yoga 108 and then go to lunch somewhere like Ammatoli, known for its Levantine food. If you’re vegan, there are a few great options.” Downtown is full of restaurants, from upscale seafood at Parker’s Lighthouse on the water to more casual options like Modica’s Deli, known for its sandwiches and pasta. “We have everything from H and M to local boutiques,” Morris says. While specialty boutiques selling apparel and accessories are scattered throughout Downtown, shoppers can also hit up The Pike Outlets and Shoreline Village, which are outdoor retail strips operating near the water. For essentials, locals have their favorites among the many convenience stores, like 562 Daisy Market or Chestnut Market. A Vons also operates in the neighborhood for more extensive shopping trips.

Many of these residential towers offer concierge service, pools and security. “You’re walkable to everything you’d need, and you'll have security to watch your condo,” says Deprez.
