Martin Luther King Jr. Community Hospital and the Los Angeles International Airport are both approximately 5 miles and 13 miles to the east, respectively.

Florence has many recreation centers in its vicinity, including Green Meadows Recreation Center, South Park Recreation Center and Algin Sutton Recreation Center.
