Afton Heights Park is north of Upper Afton Road, offering sports fields and trails linking to nearby neighborhoods. Another option is Shawnee Park, which features a jungle gym, fishing pier and paved paths with waterfront views of Battle Creek Lake. In the winter, the city maintains an outdoor ice rink here and also provides warming houses which are open from December to February.
