A quiet residential community in south Missoula
Lewis and Clark is an established Missoula neighborhood with tree-lined residential streets that reminds people of a simpler time. "It feels like one of those neighborhoods where you would just unleash your children and let them come home when the street lights come on," says Megan Robson, the supervising broker at Affari Real Estate, who has sold multiple homes here. "It's the kind of place where you just say 'See you later' and let your children run wild. It just feels very much like that era." This neighborhood is located in southern Missoula, at the base of the South Hills area. Most of the community is made up of residential streets, but there is some commercial activity around the edges of the neighborhood, making Lewis and Clark a quiet, yet convenient place to call home.

Midcentury charm in south Missoula
Most homes in Lewis and Clark are midcentury modern ranch-style houses, many of which are still in their original condition. "The houses are so cool. You can find some untouched midcentury moderns in that neighborhood that have the full orange shag carpet situation with pristinely preserved hardwoods underneath. Architecture-wise, I think that's one of the coolest neighborhoods in town," Robson says. The suburban neighborhood has spacious front and back yards but little room between the homes. Driveways and built-in garages are standard throughout the community, and most streets have sidewalks that offer walkability through the area. A mix of leafy trees and tall pines frame the streets, providing natural beauty and shade during the summer. Homes in the neighborhood typically cost between $400,000 and $650,000.
