Upper Roseville has access to shopping, dining and transportation

Upper Roseville is an urban neighborhood in Newark, with quick access to the downtown area and New York City. “We call it North Newark around here,” says Jacqueline Hendy, a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker Realty who has been selling in the Newark area for over 5 years. “The people we’ve sold homes to were looking for an area they felt comfortable raising their children in that was more affordable. Not areas closer to the river that they would be priced out of.” Bloomfield Avenue cuts through the neighborhood and is lined with restaurants, shops and public transportation hubs. Upper Roseville has lower home prices than New York City but with the same accessibility. "The area’s access to educational institutions and healthcare facilities adds to its appeal for families and professionals alike," says Damon Redmond, a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker Realty, who has 20 years of experience.

Single and multifamily homes, with apartments for rent

Well over half of Upper Roseville residents are renters, and many rent units in multifamily homes or apartment complexes. Foursquare and Colonial Revival homes are common in the area and range from $240,000 to $550,000. Most homes have small front yards and detached garages. Condos can sell between $225,000 and $335,000. Multifamily homes range from $500,000 to $800,000. While Upper Roseville is only 12 miles from New York City, its price point is significantly lower than that of neighborhoods near the Hudson River, which can reach into the millions. The grid-patterned streets in Upper Roseville are sidewalk-free, making more space for street parking.
