Waterfront homes with close shopping and recreation
North Camellia Acres is a Norfolk suburb named after the city’s popular blooming shrub, the Camellia. Its creek-side homes offer direct access to the Little Creek Reservoir, also known as “pretty lake” by locals. Homes in this older, established neighborhood began being built in the mid-1950s and 60s, and the community’s character hasn’t changed much since then. "Some of the neighborhood’s original residents still live here, people tend to stick around for a long time," says Mick Shaw, a Realtor with Howard Hanna Real Estate Services, who’s also been a lifelong resident of Norfolk.

Creekside ranch-style homes and split-levels
The neighborhood features ranch-style homes and split-levels with above-average lot sizes. Some properties are waterfront, so those living on Creekwood Road or Ridgefield Drive have direct access to the Little Creek Reservoir with a personal boat dock or pier. There are no sidewalks in the community, but homes feature long driveways and expansive front and backyards ideal for gardening or pools. Homes tend to stay on the market for about two weeks and typically sell for $300,000 to $400,000. “There aren’t many neighborhoods with waterfront homes for a lower price than this,” says Shaw.
