Crestview: bucolic beauty in reach of East Bay cities
The Crestview neighborhood in the southern end of Orinda claims its fair share of the city’s pastoral beauty, with private, woodsy estate homes overlooking the city’s rolling hills. Under a canopy of live oaks, maples and redwoods, Crestview Drive runs through the neighborhood and climbs past homes behind hedges and privacy fences. From the highest point on the ridge, expansive green pastures roll into the distance. The neighborhood is a refuge in reach of the cities on the other side of the East Bay Hills, valued for its seclusion, accessibility and excellent schools. “It’s beautiful with some flat areas, but a lot of homes with views that look out over the hillsides,” says Taso Tsakos, Managing Partner of Engel & Volkers and a top producer for 32 years. “We’re seeing a lot of people that want to be out of San Francisco, but still want to be close to the city. They may have kids in private school, but the public schools are rated so high out here they want to come out for the suburban feel.”
