Living along Oxnard's shores
Oxnard Shores is a coastal neighborhood sitting pretty along the Pacific coastline. Championing a quintessential beachside lifestyle, this vibrant corner of the world balances laid-back serenity and community spirit, offering residents an enriching living experience by the sea. “It’s close to everything,” say local Realtors Desti Centineo and Michele Losey. “You can walk to the beach, to the harbor, to the hotel (Zachari Dunes on Mandalay Beach). It’s a very close community. Sometimes you’ll wear your arm out just by walking down the street and waving at neighbors.”

A slice of the beach for everyone
From stylish beachfront houses that echo with the sound of crashing waves to cozy cottages adorned with seashells, the architecture in Oxnard Shores mirrors the tranquil beauty of the Pacific Ocean. The coastal aesthetic reigns, with soft pastel colors, airy interiors and plenty of large windows to let in the California sunshine being the norm. Mediterranean styles are also common, with rich red tile roofs and cream stucco siding. All that beauty comes at a cost, of course. While some manufactured homes and condos can be found in the neighborhood between $500,000 and $890,000, most single-family homes sell for over $1 million, with beachfront properties regularly listing up to $5 million. Many homes boast panoramic views of the sea, and with wide streets lined with palm trees, every walk feels like a mini beach vacation.

Surfing waves and hitting spikes at Oxnard Beach Park
The neighborhood's crowning jewel is Mandalay Beach. A paradise for sun-seekers, this stunning stretch of coastline is a magnet for surfers, sunbathers and sunset lovers. The local surf culture is especially vibrant, with residents often starting their day catching waves. When locals aren’t soaking up the sun or splashing in the waves, ‘ololkoy Beach Park, formerly known as Oxnard Beach Park, is the go-to for picnics, playdates and fierce rounds of sand volleyball. The Oxnard Jazz Festival is held every September at Oxnard Beach Park, offering a pleasant blend of great music, a lively atmosphere and dozens of vendors right next to the beach. The neighborhood hosts several other events throughout the year, with beachside community get-togethers and festive holiday celebrations fostering a strong sense of togetherness.

The restaurant even has a locals-only club that sends discount offers and special invitations to events, like live music nights. Locals looking for something fast like to grab a pie at Pizza Co. next door or Toppers Pizza right outside the neighborhood and then wash things down with a pint at the neighborhood’s beloved brewery, Red Tandem. When it comes to shopping, the nearby Mandalay Village Marketplace in the center of Oxnard offers a variety of retailers for everyday needs; shoppers can grab groceries from Ralphs, stock up on pet supplies at Petco or get discount goods from Big Lots.
