Mountain views on all sides of this golf community
The golf course might be at the center of the neighborhood, but it’s far from the only reason that homebuyers turn to Indian Canyons when they’re looking for a house in Palm Springs. “It’s a very desirable area with views of the San Jacinto Mountains and Santa Rosa Mountains,” says Luca Volpe, principal broker at Realty Trust, who has sold multiple homes in the neighborhood. “It’s tucked away, so there’s not really a lot of reason to be there unless you live in the area. As a result, it’s very quiet. It’s perfect for jogging or just taking a walk.” This secluded resort-style neighborhood is situated in south Palm Springs, away from the busyness of downtown but still close enough that residents can easily make the trip to the popular shops and restaurants. Midcentury modern architecture fills the community as the mountains and palm trees tower above, adding to the luxurious desert vibe. With such a picturesque setting, it’s no wonder the neighborhood has been home to Walt Disney, David Janssen and Don Adams.

Luxurious desert modern homes in south Palm Springs
Indian Canyons is full of midcentury modern homes adorning the quiet, tree-lined streets. These houses often have bright white exteriors and either flat or A-frame roofs. Many incorporate stone into the siding of the house. Other styles include Spanish-style homes with stucco siding and tile roofs and contemporary homes with gray exteriors and boxy shapes. Houses are pretty close together in a suburban setting but often have backyard swimming pools where residents can relax. Most houses in the neighborhood back up to the golf course, offering scenic views of the grassy landscape and the mountains beyond. Many homes in Indian Canyons sit on land that is owned by the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians and leased to homeowners. “It’s one of the most expensive price points in Palm Springs, but the houses can be more affordable depending on the lease than fee land,” says Clay Baham, a Realtor with the Paul Kaplan Group at Bennion Deville Homes. “The price points can range from $1.5 million and up. The area is moving pretty good, it’s pretty active.” As Baham says, homes in Indian Canyons start at around $1.5 million and can cost as much as $3 million.
