Interstates 580 and 680 connect Pleasanton to the rest of the Bay Area. The city is 15 miles from Fremont, 29 miles from San Jose and Oakland, and 40 miles from San Francisco. The Bay Area Rapid Transit Blue line runs directly from Pleasanton and San Francisco, and the Altamont Commuter Express (ACE Rail) has a daily round-trip route from Stockton to San Jose that travels through Pleasanton. Asco-Radum is less than 2 miles from Main Street in downtown Pleasanton, which has dozens of shops and locally owned restaurants in one place. “It’s not an updated, modern downtown, but it’s a very charming one,” Hsu says. “You’re still going to get your great coffee shops and great restaurants. They kept what it looked like decades ago.” Brava Garden Eatery combines Argentinian and Italian cuisines, Oyo focuses on dishes from across South America and the Caribbean, and Tri-Valley Bistro has drinks for happy hour. On the neighborhood's opposite side are small shopping plazas like Amador Center on Santa Rita Road, which is anchored by a Safeway. The community is also within 3 miles of San Francisco Premium Outlets in Livermore and Hacienda Crossings Shopping Center in Dublin; each has a wide selection of clothing, cosmetic and hobby stores.
