Countryside is a residential community with a commuter-friendly location
Rancho Cordova’s Countryside neighborhood offers a suburban lifestyle with a convenient location, close to U.S. Route 50 and employment centers for cargo shipping. “You have great proximity to Sacramento Mather Airport, which opens you up to jobs,” says Rene Morales, a local real estate agent at eXp Realty with over 30 years of experience in the Sacramento area. The neighborhood is mainly residential, with an elementary school and a park at the center, within walking distance for many families. The neighborhood is also home to George Washington Carver School of Arts and Sciences, a charter high school. Though shopping and dining options in the neighborhood are limited, restaurants and grocery stores are within a few miles.
Most housing dates to the late 20th and early 21st centuries
Some of the homes here date back to the 1960s, but most of the homes in Countryside consist of late-20th-century minimal traditional builds with two-car garages and small, square front yards. Some infill properties from the early 2000s feature Spanish Revival-style architecture, with arched doorways and red tile roofs. In addition to single-family homes, several duplexes are on the neighborhood’s west side, built in the 1970s and ‘80s. Streetscapes are colored by diverse trees, including cypress, maple and some oaks. Most floorplans include between three and five bedrooms, with prices ranging from $350,000 to $700,000.

Proximity to the freeway and Sacramento Mather Airport
Commuters have easy access to U.S. Route 50, which lines the neighborhood’s north side and leads less than 15 miles to downtown Sacramento. Sacramento Regional Transit bus routes serve the neighborhood. Several hospitals, including Mercy San Juan Medical Center, are within 15 miles. The nearest commercial airport, Sacramento International, is about 20 miles away. Sacramento Mather Airport is adjacent to the neighborhood. Once a military airbase, the small airfield is mainly used for cargo operations. The proximity makes Countryside a convenient location for those who work at the airport, though noise may be a concern for some on the neighborhood’s edge. ”The west side of Mather Airport gets a little more noise, but it’s usually not much of a concern,” Morales says.
Lots of nearby parks with playgrounds and athletic facilities
The neighborhood’s namesake park is centrally located, with a playground and open fields. The larger Lincoln Village Community Park has more athletic fields, including basketball and tennis courts and a swimming pool. The Sacramento Gun Range is located within the neighborhood.
