Northside homes
There is a distinct variety of residential areas in Northside. Whether it's public streets, in gated planned communities, condos or apartments, there's a unique abode for every resident. Many of the houses in Northside are a mix of single-family houses. Single-story ranch styles sit alongside more contemporary housing styles. Residents also enjoy houses adorned with terra cotta roofing and warmly-colored stucco walls unique to Spanish and Mediterranean architecture. Palm-shaded sidewalks connect residents to nearby parks and schools. Home prices in this area begin around $500,000 for a modestly-sized ranch with three beds and one bath, and can go as high as $1 million for larger estates.Relaxing at Reid Park
Northside’s parks allow residents to connect with nature, relax and play games. Residents can lounge at the picnic areas, go for a swim at the community pool or shoot hoops at Reid Park. Even more dedicated athletic space is available at the AB Brown Sports Complex, where soccer players have playing fields. The former Riverside Country Club is now the site of the Riverside City Cross Country Course, which hosts tens of thousands of runners from Riverside schools for races throughout the year. The neighborhood also has views of the grand Santa Ana River.Riverside Unified School District
Students in Northside may attend schools in the Riverside Unified School District. This includes Fremont Elementary School and Central Middle School, which both earned a B-minus on Niche. John W. North High School received a B-plus and has several enriching programs, such as AVID and International Baccalaureate (IB). The neighborhood is also close to the University of California-Riverside, a public university that has received multiple high national rankings and offers a robust range of majors, from humanities to sciences to business and more.Route 60 and I-215
Northside is located near California State Route 60, an East-West highway that serves the municipalities on the east side of Los Angeles and runs southbound of the San Gabriel Valley. It also has highway access to I-215, which serves the San Bernardino, Riverside and Ontario areas and connects to I-10. "One of the biggest conveniences of driving through Northside is the two gas stations across from each other. You come up on them right before you jump on the freeway and it's a good place to stop and rest before you jump on the 91 West to go to the beach cities. The 91 changes into the 215, another major freeway that's used to get to San Bernardino and that freeway is used to transport people to the 10 or the 210 to LA," Rangel says.Burgers and burritos
Stop into MGM Burgers, a locally owned establishment serving up quality breakfast dishes and burgers alike. Tacos Marline and Del Taco both have lots of tasty options for Mexican cuisine. Northside is predominantly residential, so there are no local grocers, but proximity to downtown Riverside covers that base while providing quality retail shopping options. A short three-mile drive to Maxi Foods Market or Clark's Nutrition and Natural Foods will take care of any grocery needs.
