Country club living
Marconi North is a well-established neighborhood of older homes about 7 miles northeast of downtown Sacramento. Marconi North's big draw is the Del Paso Country Club, anchoring the southeast corner of the neighborhood since 1916. It's a standout feature for homebuyers. “People want to have the distinction of living near a country club, so there is tons of competition in this market,” says Lisa Bewley of Elk Grove Real Estate & Development Company, who has nearly two decades of experience in the area. Del Paso Country Club has hosted numerous USGA championship tournaments. In addition, the community has a reputation for philanthropy, as the club’s tournaments have raised millions of dollars for local health and educational programs.
Del Paso Country Club golf
The club's course offers 18 holes of championship golf and holds junior clinics and tournaments yearly. In addition, members have access to the club’s pool and dining options. Nongolfers can enjoy themselves at Seely Park, which has a splash park and basketball courts or hit the tennis courts and playgrounds at Bohemian Park. Del Norte Club is just a few blocks to the west of the neighborhood and offers a full indoor gym and private fitness lessons. In addition, the club has tennis courts, a pool and indoor basketball courts.

Renovated homes
Many Marconi North homes are ranch-style builds from the 1950s, priced between $500,000 and $600,000. Some homes in the neighborhood, especially those near the golf course on Morse Avenue and Pope Avenue, have seen extensive renovations. “They’re midcentury homes," says Bewley, "but the majority have gone through remodeling and are completely modern.” Remodeled homes are priced between $750,000 and $1.3 million. These homes don’t feature views of the course and are shielded from errant tee shots by mature trees. Properties sit on large lots and sizeable yards for entertaining. “You get a lot of property for your money in the neighborhood,” says Bewley. “These older homes are on much larger lots than anything built today.” Plentiful sidewalks make for pleasant walks to the club or the grocery store.
Three to four bedroom homes in Marconi North are between $500,000 to $600,000.

Town & Village shopping and dining
