A multicultural community in central San Diego
People move to San Diego’s Linda Vista for location, hilltop views and relative affordability compared to other parts of the city. “Living in Linda Vista is very central to so much that San Diego offers,” says Tugg Snowbarger, local Broker with Grand Pacific Properties Group. Residents are just a few miles from area highlights like Fashion Valley, Mission Bay and Balboa Park. The University of San Diego borders the neighborhood, often ranked one of the most beautiful campuses in the country for its Spanish Revival architecture and hilltop views. “The University of San Diego is really an anchor in the community,” Snowbarger says. He’s an alum himself.

Smaller homes at more affordable price points
Linda Vista was developed to house aircraft workers during WWII, meaning the neighborhood is filled with 1940s bungalows, some with upgrades, others in need of renovations. Buyers can find these two- and three- bedroom builds between $750,000 and $900,000. Ranch-style homes and two-story Mediterranean builds with four or five bedrooms can reach up to $1.2 million. Compared to suburbs like Mira Mesa, Linda Vista homes tend to be smaller, though lot sizes are large enough for accessory dwelling units, which many homeowners build and rent out. Buyers can find three-story townhomes and condos throughout the neighborhood, though especially around Fashion Valley mall. Prices range between $450,000 and $1 million, depending on the unit’s views, upgrades and square footage.
