Inside Inner Richmond
Tucked between two of San Francisco's premier parks, Inner Richmond is known for its location. The Presidio and Golden Gate Park border the neighborhood to the north and south, providing options to hike, visit museums or stop by events on weekdays and weekends. "Inner Richmond backs up onto The Presidio, which is well taken care of and very safe," says Carren Shagley, a founder and Associate Broker with Legacy Real Estate. The neighborhood is home to a mix of cultures that create a lively dining scene; blending Irish, Vietnamese and Chinese cuisine. Plus, it is very walkable, so residents can experience all the culture, cuisine and outdoor activities in and around the neighborhood.

The Presidio or Golden Gate Park
Inner Richmond residents have their pick when it comes to San Francisco Parks. On warm and chilly days alike, people stroll along the trails of Golden Gate Park. The massive park has sports fields, lakes and views of the city and the Gulf of the Farallones. The park is also home to the California Academy of Science and de Young Museums, which offer exhibits of science and fine arts. The Presidio can't be forgotten, either. It's home to hiking trails and panoramic views of the city and the San Francisco Bay. Residents can lounge on picnic chairs overlooking the area, hike along the coast or soak up the sun on one of the park's beaches.
You can even cross this bridge if you visit the Japanese Tea Garden Free Days.

The houses around here seem nice and cared for, with the occasional eyesore. I very rarely see a For Sale sign out, though there are often For Rent signs, as many property owners convert the houses into a couple of apartments. Housing is exorbitantly expensive and parking is nonexistent.

Better than some areas, worse than others. I wouldn't feel comfortable wandering off the beaten track after dark. My car was broken into right under a bright streetlight at a modestly busy intersection. Police are right next door.
