Larger lots 3 miles from downtown Sioux Falls
Three miles east of downtown Sioux Falls, Oak View is a quiet suburban community that offers larger lot sizes than those available at city center. "If anybody's looking for a larger home for a growing family, Oak View would be a really good option," says Realtor Zach Walters with Vylla Home. Walters goes on to describe Oak View as calm and secluded, despite being so close to the city's center. "It's kind of a tucked away neighborhood in a unique pocket – unless you're looking for that neighborhood, you wouldn't find it.” With three parks in the neighborhood and plenty of shops and restaurants along 10th Street, "Everything is close by," Walters adds.

"The houses are all fairly large and well-constructed," says Walters. “No two houses are alike, or cookie-cutter. It doesn't feel like a subdivision. Each house has its own character." Oak View's development began in the 1960s and continues to expand even today, with lots still available for sale on the neighborhood's northern end. Homes here are typically single-family, although there are some townhouses and condo options too. Most homes feature ranch-style or new traditional architecture with a mix of vinyl, brick and stone facades. Properties in Oak View sit on a quarter to a third of an acre lots and "The houses I sold there were to families with small kids and to older parents with kids who'd moved out who wanted more open space," says Walter. Prices in this neighborhood tend to fall between $250,000 and $550,000.
