While the housing market primarily consists of renters in apartments, paying between $1,000 and $1,900, single-family homes sit in cul-de-sacs throughout the area. Ranch-style homes built between the 1950s and 1970s list between $280,000 and $625,000. At the turn of the 21st century, contemporary homes, some with Craftsman features, were built. Prices range from $380,000 to $570,000. Manufactured homes in communities are listed between $20,000 and $160,000.Sports and education in Springfield Public Schools

Both Hamlin Middle School and Springfield High School also maintain C grades. The high school has a variety of student athletics, including basketball and volleyball.Traveling through Gateway and connections to Eugene
Local thoroughfares, including Gateway Street and Harlow Road, have dedicated bike lanes and bus stops that lead to nearby shopping centers and parks. Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway runs along the neighborhood’s east side to the PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center, the city’s largest employer. Interstate 5 runs through the neighborhood’s west side and connects it with Salem in roughly 65 miles. Guy Lee Park’s 8 acres include two tennis courts and baseball fields. Gamebird Park’s has a full-size basketball court, which is connected to the park’s playground and open space by a paved trail. The end of the path reaches the FOOD For Lane County’s 5-acre farm, a community space where volunteers tend to organic produce. Lyle Hatfield Path’s paved surface runs for over a mile along the McKenzie River. As a part of Springfield, Gateway’s parks are maintained by the Willamalane Park and Recreation District. This system operates separately from the City of Springfield and consists of a board of elected officials. The Shoppes at Gateway and restaurant variety
On the neighborhood’s west side, The Shoppes at Gateway’s shopping mall has a Cinemark and major retailers, including Cabela’s, Target and Kohl’s. Restaurants surround the mall, including The Gateway Grill, a taphouse with 24 high-definition televisions. Safeway anchors the Pioneer Plaza, where conveyor belts transport sushi rolls to patrons at Oishii Sushi and donuts are baked fresh daily at the family owned Bizzy Jean’s Donuts.Celebrating the home of the Simpsons
Every Friday following Labor Day, Downtown Springfield’s Main Street fills with local vendor booths for the Springfield Block Party, which includes live music and activities, like obstacle courses. “It’s Springfield’s largest event. People come from all over Lane County," Juth says. “Springfield is thought of as the city that inspired the city in ‘The Simpsons,’ so as you walk through, there are murals and people in Simpsons costumes you can take photos with.”
