Green space and golf
Sitting on 270 acres just north of Warrenton, LaFortune Park is one of Tulsa’s most important assets and named after former Tulsa Mayor Robert J. LaFortune. The park offers visitors two 18-hole golf courses to choose from as well as 21 tennis courts, a 3-mile trail and a pond if game for fishing. “The golf course has a par 3 with lights so you can golf at night which is pretty nice,” Sanders adds. Southern Hills Country Club is consistently ranked as one of the world’s best golf courses, hosting the PGA Championship five times, most recently in 2022. The club underwent $19 million in upgrades in 2019 with a complete reconstruction of the course. For non-golfers, the club has tennis courts, a pool and a health and wellness center with fitness classes. Warrenton residents also have access to Warrenton Woods, a small private park good for taking a stroll and enjoying nature.

Students begin at Key Elementary School, rated a C-minus on Niche.com, moving onto Memorial Middle School and Memorial High School, rated a C-minus and C-plus, respectively. At the high school students have dual enrollment opportunities and can take courses at Tulsa Community College.
