Homes mixed in with commercial and outdoor fun
West Highlands-Tulsa Hills is a community that mixes convenience and commercial fun. First, it provides direct access to retail options and highly rated restaurants through one of Tulsa’s biggest shopping destinations. Complementing these extensive commercial amenities, homebuyers will find residential streets brimming with elaborately designed homes. This neighborhood is also close to major thoroughfares and several athletic facilities. Plus, Turkey Mountain Park borders the Arkansas River on the east side, providing a touch of nature. “Tulsa Hills Shopping Center is one of the biggest draws for that area,” says Angela Cozort, sales associate for McGraw Realtors. “When I list houses in those areas, I always highlight the convenience to the mall and Highway 75.”

Contemporary styles starting at $225k
Properties in West Highlands range from 1970s ranches to French styles from the 1990s. Many of these are placed around Page Belcher Golf Course, typically on quarter-acre lots with two-car garages and narrow back yards overlooking the greens. Residences in Tulsa Hills sit a little more out of the way, and off a more secluded vibe. Houses tend to come with homeowner’s association fees that pay for access to community clubhouses and pools, as well as covered back porches that lead into spacious, fully fenced yards. Depending on square footage and features, asking prices run from $225,000 to upward of $600,000. “Homes do seem to sell quickly here, because they’re in Jenks Public Schools, which is a coveted district,” Cozort says.

A big mall and quirky small eateries
Leisure hours are spent perusing the massive Tulsa Hills Shopping Center, which contains almost 75 stores that cater to a wide range of needs. Visitors can pick up snacks or groceries at Sam’s Club or Target, snag a new outfit at Marshalls or Ross, upgrade their phone at Best Buy or catch the latest blockbuster at the AMC theater. Dining options are available here, too, whether that’s a fast-food favorite like McDonald’s or a slower sit-down experience. Ramen fans can nosh at Gung Ho, an anime-themed eatery known also known for its build-your-own poke bowls and bubble tea. As part of the fun, patrons can check out the arcade or kick back and watch TV. More restaurants sit just south of the mall, including what many locals consider to be the best doughnut shop in the city. Tulsa Hills Donuts is a place for coffee, sweet treats and savory pastries, like their popular sausage roll.

Scenic escapes on the Arkansas River
For outdoor recreation, there are hundreds of acres to immerse in at the Turkey Mountain Urban Wilderness Area. Both hikers and bikers can take to trails that feature varying levels of difficulty. For example, the 0.8-mile Red Trail is fit for beginners, encompassing a mainly flat looping path. Seasoned wanderers can give the 5.7-mile Pink Trail a try – it’s full of zig zags and switchbacks. But what residents ultimately enjoy is, no matter which path is chosen, they’re always able to find panoramic views of both the city and the Arkansas River. West Highlands-Tulsa Hills doesn’t have any traditional parks with playsets, but Helmerich Park sits just across the river. There’s also the Page Belcher Golf Course, a prominent fixture in daily life here. This facility offers two 18-hole courses, as well as a driving range and short-game and putting practice areas. It’s also home to Tulsa Golf School, which offers private lessons and clinics.

Just wanted to add a correction of fact in regards to the statement that the west highlands Tulsa hills neighborhood does not have any parks with playgrounds for kids ( that is incorrect) We do actually have one park with playground equipment ( brand new as a matter of fact they just completely updated the entire playground equipment late last year 2024) it’s called “WestHighlands Park” directly across from River Field Day School and runs right up against / between the West highlands/ Golf Estates neighborhoods and Page Belcher Golf Course . It’s got a tennis court with stadium lights accessible to turn on at night , a baseball backstop, soccer goal cross bar, covered picnic , playground , swing set, and LOTS of woods that has a sidewalk / walking path winding down all the way along 61st street ( crossing over 3 creeks / bridges) . It’s a very cherished and appreciated part of our neighborhood that many of the residents and children take advantage of having within walking distance from our neighborhoods all year round .
