Virginia Beach City Public Schools serves Lynnhaven. The neighborhood’s assigned schools include Brookwood Elementary School, which is next to the mall and receives a B-plus rating from Niche, and Corporate Landing Middle School, which is in Dam Neck and receives an A-minus rating. Students can move on to the A-plus-rated Ocean Lakes High School in Virginia Beach Central. It has a Math and Science Academy. Tidewater Classical Academy is a nearby private option in Green Run.

With Lynnhaven Mall in the heart of the neighborhood, there are plenty of places to shop and dine. It has dozens of familiar brands from Old Navy and Barnes & Noble to Macy’s and Dillard’s. You can sit down for a meal at Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant or Maggie McFly’s before catching the latest blockbuster at AMC Lynnhaven 18. Residents can find even more entertainment by taking a short drive to the Virginia Beach Oceanfront or heading to Downtown Norfolk. “Around Norfolk, you have the hustle-bustle,” says Madison Mason, a Realtor and owner of Steel Forged Realty. “A lot of the upbeat community is in Norfolk with our downtown districts over there, so you kind of have the best of both worlds in Lynnhaven.”
