Older rowhomes and new condos in Christina Landing
Red-brick rowhomes with Italianate architecture were built in South Wilmington at the turn of the twentieth century. Wide sidewalks with weeds sprouting through the cracks meet small front yards littered with plastic toys. American Foursquares and minimal traditional homes from the mid-1900s can be found on narrow lots throughout the neighborhood. While most row homes only offer street parking, single-family detached houses feature gravel driveways that lead to backyard garages. Thanks to the neighborhood’s revitalization initiative, modern high-rise condos and new traditional townhomes were built around 2005 in the Christina Landing subdivision along the river. These newer homes feature modern interiors and balconies with waterfront views. A two-to-three-bedroom townhome in Christina Landing usually lists between $400,000 and $500,000. Meanwhile, a larger and older American Foursquare costs between $100,000 to $200,000 in South Wilmington.Southbridge Wetland Park is an award-winning green infrastructure
In 2022, Southbridge Wetland Park was built to provide residents with a new outdoor amenity and reduce neighborhood flooding. Young athletes can train with professionals or watch NBA stars play for the Delaware Blue Coats at the Chase Fieldhouse on Highway 13.Free meals at Christina public schools

This major route allows residents to access the Philadelphia International Airport in about 30 minutes. Highway 13 leads to the Fourth Street Bridge and connects South Wilmington to the busy shops and restaurants at the Riverfront. The Henrietta Johnson Medical Center is a federally qualified health center providing comprehensive healthcare for the neighborhood since 1970.Christina Crossing is a convenient spot to buy groceries
Revitalization efforts recently brought a new shopping hub to South Wilmington. The retail center, Christina Crossing is anchored by a 70,000-square-foot ShopRite grocery store and houses several local restaurants.
