For collectors and TV fans, a light could be waiting to carry you home — to the San Francisco house featured in the sitcom "Full House." The Victorian house is on the market, and brokers are emphasizing its history and high-end features.
The show following a single dad raising his three daughters with his brother-in-law and friend was filmed on a set with many scenes taking place inside studio depictions of the fictional family’s home. But the iconic exterior seen in the credits and sometimes during episodes was actually the Victorian in San Francisco’s Lower Pacific Heights.
"Full House" aired for eight seasons from 1987 until 1995. A sequel series, "Fuller House," was on Netflix for four seasons between 2016 and 2020.

Now, the 3,700-square-foot house is being offered for $6.5 million, according to a listing on CoStar’s Homes.com. It was listed on June 6 by Rachel Swann of The Swann Group, a Coldwell Banker brokerage.
The house was built in 1883 by architect Charles Lewis Hinkel. It was renovated in 2019 by renowned architect Richard Landry, known for his work designing homes for celebrity clients. It has four bedrooms, three-and-a-half bathrooms and a manicured backyard.

Before the home was put up for sale, brokers had to take steps just to secure the listing, Swann told CoStar News in an email. That process involved “a lot” of nondisclosure agreements and “the trust and confidence” of the sellers.
Once Swann had secured the listing, marketing had to be “handled very deliberately” because of the home’s history, according to Swann.
“A lot of time and effort went into making sure that this launched without being leaked to the press,” she wrote. “The approach regarding marketing went from a local/regional approach to an expansive global approach.”

After “aggressively” pricing the home, Swann is now targeting a specific kind of buyer.
“The historic residence appears to be particularly suited for the collector who has an appreciation for impeccable design, provenance and TV nostalgia,” she wrote in an Instagram post.
Buyers interested in the property also have the option to secure concrete stones with handprints from the “Full House” cast, including Bob Saget and John Stamos, according to the post.

The "Full House" property's updated features are also part of its appeal, Swann told CoStar News.
In the listing, Swann emphasized the house’s “timeless contemporary sophistication, seamlessly integrating period details with modern upgrades” and its “luxurious” features.
“This home will attract a distinguished buyer who appreciates the best finishes and an elegant, opulent, residence or who has a love of iconic homes or both,” she wrote in her email.
It's not the only residence on the market this spring that's been featured in high-profile scripted programming. The house featured in "Home Alone," the 1990 Christmas movie following an 8-year-old who is left at home by himself, hit the market in Winnetka, Illinois, at the end of May. The house went under contract in less than a week for its asking price of $5.25 million.
Lower Pacific Heights is at the northern end of San Francisco and “is known for its restaurants, shops and Victorian-era homes,” according to Homes.com. The average home price in the neighborhood is just shy of $1.4 million.
