A Chicago-based independent brokerage just got 40 agents bigger.

Fulton Grace Realty announced the acquisition of Chicago-based Main Street Real Estate Group on Thursday, expanding the brokerage of 400 by about 40 agents, confirmed Fulton Grace President TJ Rubin.

Rubin founded Fulton Grace in 2008. It now operates in four states and has seven offices in Illinois. Main Street owners and co-founders Mo Dadkhah and Jeff Bushaw will join Fulton Grace as brokers.

The acquisition came from an aligned vision of “creating an extremely strong independent brokerage and offering big firm resources — marketing, technology, support, training — with the community feel,” said Rubin in an interview. “Each of our companies has a wonderful community feel, and we wanted to keep that vibe, and we both felt we’d be ultimately stronger together.”

Fulton Grace has three offices in Florida, one in Arizona, and one in Wisconsin. The brokerage’s last team acquisition was a firm of 20 agents from the former ReMax Destiny team in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, in March 2024. It expanded its footprint into Florida and Arizona in 2023.

Other acquisitions are not off the table, said Rubin, who noted a desire to expand further into Fulton Grace’s existing four-state market but wouldn’t say no to an additional state.

Another large move in Chicago independent brokerages occurred in June when Baird & Warner acquired Dream Town Real Estate. The deal increased Baird & Warner’s agent pool of 4,000 by about 400.
