Epic Real Estate Group, a top-producing team in the Atlanta area, has joined Compass, the nation's largest brokerage by sales volume.
Epic, co-founded by Drey Doty and Allison McLaurin, totaled $32 million in sales last year, securing a 2025 Top 1.5% Team nationwide designation from industry tracker RealTrends. Epic, previously affiliated with Harry Norman Realtors, will operate out of Compass’ North Atlanta office.
The five-person team specializes in physician and corporate executive moves and international relocations in such Atlanta-area submarkets as Alpharetta, Sandy Springs and Woodstock.
With $231 billion in sales last year, New York-based Compass leads all U.S. brokerages, RealTrends data shows.
"They really get it when it comes to marketing and collaborating without ego," McLaurin said of Compass.
The Epic story began five years ago when McLaurin hired Doty to help her buy a house when she and her husband moved from North Carolina to Georgia. Doty happened to mention that she was looking for a partner, and McLaurin, an artist and a medical device sales and pricing executive, said she was interested in breaking into real estate full time.
Atlanta listings increase
"It just clicked," McLaurin told Homes.com.
They launched the partnership in 2021. Epic works with both buyers and sellers, though the firm has leaned more toward sellers recently, according to McLaurin.
While sales of Atlanta-area luxury homes remain vibrant, she said, the region's overall market has slowed. Atlanta prices dipped 0.3% in July compared to a year earlier, and listings surged 36.7% from July 2024, the fourth-largest percentage increase in the country, according to Homes.com.
"A lot of it is just paying attention to the data and overcommunicating with clients," McLaurin said. "The homes that are selling are the ones that are turnkey and not needing any work."
Doty, an agent for about a decade, previously worked on the corporate side at Publix Super Markets. The two other agents on the team are Anita Ronan Hunter, a former art teacher, and Anna McLaurin, Allison's sister-in-law and a former pharmaceutical sales representative.
"I do think having that corporate background has allowed us to be very strategic in how we set up the team," Allison McLaurin said. "I think it's one of the reasons why we're so successful."
