Brokerage eXp is expanding its footprint in Arizona weeks after it reported that its agent count was still shrinking.

Scottsdale-based agent Scott Kumler and his 53-member team, known as the Kumler Group, are making the jump to eXp from My Home Group, executives announced Wednesday. In 2024, the Kumler Group had a hand in more than 190 transactions and achieved a sales volume of over $80 million.

Kumler said he was drawn to eXp for its agent support.

“My goal is to give unparalleled value and support to our agents,” he said in a statement. “EXp gave me total confidence in our ability to scale support, coaching, and training.”

The partnership comes just weeks after eXp reported softer-than-expected first-quarter earnings. As part of that report, the brand said its agent count had decreased 5% from a year earlier.

At the time, Leo Pareja, CEO of eXp Realty, said the brokerage focused on agent productivity and performance rather than agent count. Part of that strategy includes bringing on teams instead of individual agents, he said.

“Over the last 18 months or so, we’ve really focused on attracting the most productive agents and teams,” Pareja told investors earlier this month. “Agents on teams are 67% more productive than just individual agents.”

Joining forces with the Kumler Group aligns with that strategy – and it speaks to the brand’s desirability, according to Pareja.

“[Kumler’s] decision to bring a high-performing team like The Kumler Group to eXp reflects our continued growth among the industry’s top professionals,” he said in a statement.
