Residential real estate heavyweight eXp Realty is adding a new team to its presence in a growing Pacific Northwest city.
The brokerage announced Thursday that it’s adding Spokane, Washington-based 4 Degrees Real Estate to its expanding agent base. With it, the team brings co-founders and brothers Joel and Jordan Tampien, alongside their partner Steve James and at least 35 agents.
“We weren’t looking to make a change just for the sake of it,” the brothers and their partner said in a joint statement. “We are confident that this move will help our agents scale their businesses while maintaining the values that built 4 Degrees in the first place.”
The move comes as eXp works to expand its base of “high-performing independent teams” and further its presence in lucrative markets.
Last month, the brokerage’s parent company, eXp World Holdings, announced that in 2024, the brand grew its revenue, but its agent count decreased by about 5% compared to the previous year.
Now, the brokerage is focused on bringing more agents on board by recruiting teams interested in growth, eXp Realty CEO Leo Pareja told investors while discussing those earnings.
“EXp has really carved its corner out as where the pros go to grow,” he said. “It’s our unparalleled opportunities that we offer agents to grow their business.”
There could be benefits for the company to get in on the growing Spokane housing market, too. Last month, single-family home prices were up 4% compared to the same time last year, outperforming the national average of 2.7%. The city also had more active listings than it did last year.
