Michael Jordan’s infamous Chicago mansion has officially sold, ending a 12-year saga that fans and the media followed closely.

The 56,000-square-foot personalized house in Highland Park sold for $9.5 million on Tuesday, according to a Homes.com listing. The vacant home went under contract in September when it had a listing price of $14,855,000.

Listing agent Katherine Malkin of Compass did not immediately respond to a request to comment.

Jordan moved into the six-bedroom, 19-bathroom custom-built house with his then-wife Juanita in 1995 after leading the Chicago Bulls to the first of two three-peat championship runs. By 2012 though, the then-retired Jordan told the Wall Street Journal he was selling the house because his kids were grown and he no longer needed the space.

That year, he listed the house for $29 million. By the end of 2012, he’d lowered the price to $21 million. After that, he decided to auction the house.

Though a potential buyer won the auction in 2013, Jordan ultimately pulled out of the deal because he didn’t want the property to sell for less than it was worth.

That concern might have been valid. Listing agent Malkin told The Wall Street Journal that a 2009 renovation of the property cost Jordan about $50 million.

Located north of the city, the property includes “every conceivable luxury amenity” and is “as legendary as His Airness himself,” Malkin wrote in the property’s listing description.

Those amenities include a gate emblazoned with Jordan’s uniform number, 23, that welcomes visitors to the secluded property. There’s also a regulation-sized basketball court, a locker room, a trophy room, an infinity pool, a putting green, a tennis court, a cigar room and a 14-car heated garage.
