A midcentury modern house in a lakeside suburb of the Texas state capital went on the market for the first time since it was built decades ago with the highest sales price for the area.
The residence at 3925 Westlake Drive was inspired by the works of architect Frank Lloyd Wright, according to listing agent Amy Deane of Moreland Properties. At $19.9 million, the house is currently priced above anything else in the Austin region, according to Homes.com.
Deane describes the 8,325-square-foot house in a video on her website as "a yacht gently embracing the hillside.” The property also includes a two-slip boathouse for access to Lake Austin, designed to match the main house, and a guest house. Both the wood and limestone exterior and the home’s interiors were meticulously designed over three years, according to the listing on Homes.com.

“Every corner exudes a sense of enchantment, offering an experience unlike any other on Lake Austin — a veritable oasis reminiscent of the Caribbean,” the listing says.
The 3-acre lot includes 550 feet of waterfront, while the rest of the lot apart from the structures is carefully landscaped with more than 2,000 tulips, orchids and other flowers, Deane said. The guest house, which sits on a cliff above the main residence, includes panoramic views of the lake and surrounding hills. It also has a state-of-the-art fitness center.

The main house has three bedrooms, with a fourth in the guest structure.
The estimated monthly payment on a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage for this property is $123,463, according to Homes.com.
