A piece of rock and roll and architectural history is for sale along the Florida coast.

Stu Cook, the bassist of the rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival and a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, listed his waterfront estate in Sarasota last week, according to a listing on Homes.com and a statement from listing brokerage Premier Sotheby’s International Realty.

The four-bedroom, five-bathroom house listed last week for nearly $9.97 million. Public records on Homes.com show Cook purchased the property in 2013 for $2.95 million.

In 2016, the property was completely rebuilt to include updated appliances and hurricane protections, listing agent Joel Schemmel said on Homes.com.

“A residence of this caliber is not only a rare gem but also a piece of rock & roll history,” the listing brokerage said in a statement. “Stu Cook, who helped define an era of popular music, has infused this home with a spirit of timeless creativity and innovation.”

Beyond its rockstar connection, the property is also architecturally significant, Schemmel said. It was originally designed by renowned architect Carl Abbott, known for his work in Florida and the Caribbean. Inside, it also features a custom-made paper mâché chandelier created by a German artist.

“This unparalleled estate is a vision of modern architectural excellence,” Schemmel said in a statement. “Every detail has been meticulously crafted to offer an elevated living experience that reflects a legendary music provenance.”

Other notable amenities include an elevator, rooftop deck, whole-house generator and a water filtration system.

More than that, the property also offers its next residents access to both the waterfront and Southside Village, a popular commercial district in Sarasota that houses a variety of restaurants and boutiques, according to Homes.com.
