With about a month left in the offseason, Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is nearing the end zone on the sale of his South Florida house.
A deal is pending for the NFL player's five-bedroom lakefront home in the town of Davie, west of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, according to the listing on Homes.com. Tagovailoa is asking $ 3 million after paying $1.65 million for the home in 2020, Broward County property records show.
The listing agents, Jonathan Mann and Danny Hertzberg, both of Coldwell Banker, did not immediately return phone calls to comment.
The 5,076-square-foot home, on the market since April, sits on nearly an acre in the gated Long Lake Ranches development within the Robbins Park neighborhood, the listing shows. The house includes a private movie theater, putting green, heated pool and covered summer kitchen. Annual taxes are more than $39,000, according to the listing.
The Dolphins drafted Tagovailoa in the first round in 2020 out of the University of Alabama. He signed a four-year, $212.4 million contract extension with the Dolphins before the 2024 season, but his durability has been his Achilles' heel.
Last season alone, he missed six games with a concussion and a hip injury. Some football analysts have called for Tagovailoa to retire due to repeated blows to the head, but the quarterback has insisted he wants to keep playing.
The Dolphins begin training camp July 15, hoping to break the NFL's longest playoff win drought. They haven't won a postseason game since beating Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts in overtime on Dec. 30, 2000.
