A year after entering Utah, Tri Pointe Homes is open for business with the opening of two communities in the fast-growing state.
Tri Pointe has begun sales at Polaris at Terraine and The Crossings at Lake Creek — the builder's first two Utah developments.
Polaris, located in West Jordan, has 32 initial single-family homes that offer finished basements and three to seven bedrooms with "modern farmhouse" architecture. Prices start in the low $600,000s.
The Crossings within Heber City will have 139 single-family homes that are slightly bigger than homes in Polaris — up to 8,000 square feet with eight bedrooms — with prices starting around $1 million. Neighborhood amenities include a clubhouse, pool, pickleball courts, open space and trails.
The two communities were part of five initial projects that Tri Pointe launched when it opened its Utah division in September 2024. Additionally, Tri Pointe plans to open a design studio in Salt Lake City in 2026 to help buyers choose finishing touches on their homes, according to a news release from July.
“Our local team has led the charge to select land and design homes that are deeply rooted in Utah’s unique lifestyle, culture, and aesthetic," said Kevin Krivanec, Tri Pointe's division president for Utah and Washington state, in a statement.
Beyond Polaris and The Crossings, Tri Pointe is working on three other projects: Aspire at Holladay Hills, Pavilions at Holladay Hills and Canyon Park, with sales expected to begin early next year. In total, Tri Pointe is looking to build about 300 homes between single-family, townhomes and luxury estates in its initial push into the state.
Pulte Group, another top U.S. homebuilder, is also ramping up its presence in Utah following its entry into the market in 2023.
Tri Pointe Homes lists addresses in Irvine, California, and Incline Village, Nevada, for its corporate offices. It has communities in 12 states, including Washington D.C., according to its website. The builder recently started construction on a townhouse development in North Carolina.
Tri Pointe ranks No. 15 among the nation's biggest homebuilders, based on 6,460 total closings in 2024, according to Builder Magazine.
