Two of eXp Realty's highest-producing teams are joining forces in Southern California, creating what the brokerage has coined "a groundbreaking super team."

Kyle Whissel of Whissel Realty and Daniel Beer of the Beer Home Team are uniting their agents under The Whissel Beer Group, according to a Wednesday news release. Both groups were previously part of eXp Realty, and the new merged team will remain under the brokerage.

In 2024, Whissel Realty ranked first of eXp's teams by volume with more than $609 million in sales. The Beer Home Team was ranked 15th with nearly $290 million worth of transactions. Together, Whissel and Beer have established a team of 160 agents and 60 staff spanning five offices in San Diego and Riverside County.

"Together, we’re combining the best systems, trademarked processes, leadership and culture to deliver an end-to-end experience that sets a new standard in real estate," Whissel said in a statement.

"This is about pulling the best people, systems, and strategies together to make it easy for agents to get back to doing what they love — helping clients, being profitable, and having fun again," Beer added.

The duo said they have plans to expand across California before scaling across the region and the country.

EXp is investing in team growth

Last month, the brokerage told investors that its agent count was down 5% compared to the same time a year ago.

At the time, CEO Leo Pareja said eXp was focused on productivity rather than agent count. Part of that strategy included onboarding teams of agents instead of individuals.

“Our strategy to attract teams is working and helping drive the increase in productivity,” Pareja said during the July earnings call.

The Whissel-Beer merger is the latest example of that playbook manifesting itself in real time.

Since the end of July, the brokerage has added The Heller The Home Seller team and Palm Realty Boutique to its growing roster of agent teams. It also added Los Angeles agent Vivian Lesny to its bench earlier this month.
