A South Florida real estate agent whose stint as a cast member of the reality TV show "Welcome to Plathville" ended recently has joined the fast-growing Serhant brokerage.
Veronica Peters is based in the firm's Delray Beach, Florida, office, where she focuses on high-end home sales across southern Palm Beach County.
Peters, who said she was drawn to Serhant's innovation and "modern" approach to real estate and also felt a kinship with founder and fellow reality TV star Ryan Serhant, featured in the Netflix series "Owning Manhattan."
"Welcome to Plathville" follows Kim and Barry Plath and their disciplined upbringing of 10 children on a Cairo, Georgia, farm. Peters was the girlfriend of the Plath's second-oldest son, Micah, but was no longer part of the show after they broke up. It recently completed its seventh season, and there are doubts about whether there will be an eighth.
Peters, 26, earned a real estate license six years ago and most recently worked with Premier Estate Properties and Douglas Elliman before that. She said she has more than $88 million in career sales, and Industry tracker RealTrends has recognized her as a top-producing agent for the past two years.
"Younger agents are earning a bigger part of the market share than they ever did before," she told Homes.com.
Peters attended high school in nearby Boca Raton, Florida, and has dual U.S. and Canadian citizenship. She said a big part of her business is representing South Florida homebuilder GL Homes at developments such as Lotus Edge in Boca Raton.
While the housing market has definitely slowed, she said, plenty of young professionals are still drawn to GL's country club communities, which feature elaborate clubhouses and amenities.
"They are cool, savvy buyers who just have a love for the product," Peters said.
New York-based Serhant expanded nationwide in 2023. In Florida, it has offices in Miami, Delray Beach and Jupiter. The brokerage says it has more than 1,300 agents and 100 full-time team members.
