A 2-acre estate in north Scottsdale is on the market less than a year after its prior sale — but not before the current owners invested in an overhaul of the property's backyard that added a putting green and an outdoor movie theater, among other amenities.
The home, located at 23414 N. 84th Place in Scottsdale, spans 7,413 square feet with six bedrooms in the main residence and another two in a guest house. The home hit the market in January for $4 million; that asking price has since dropped to just north of $3.7 million.
The seller closed on the house in late 2024 for $2.85 million before investing in a "total renovation," according to listing broker Bruce Woods of Coldwell Banker Realty. Those upgrades included outdoor sports courts, a swimming pool with a rock waterfall and slide, a sauna and cold plunge. Inside, two bedrooms and two bathrooms were added, and the garage has been redone.
The owner, whose daughter is an "equestrian star," pivoted to finding a horse property for her to properly train, which led to him remodeling and putting the home on the market, Woods said.
Woods said the home is fit to raise a family or serve as a vacation home due to the upgrades. The home was designed by Arizona-based Sabi Haus — a popular interior designer that specializes in staging.
"[The owner] is ready to sell it now," Woods said of the recent asking price drop. "With the remodel and furniture and everything he has into it, that's the lowest price that he can accept."
The home is located in Scottsdale's Pinnacle Peak neighborhood and was built in 2006; it's not the only high-end home in the area. The average home value in Pinnacle Peak as of July is more than $1.7 million — notably higher than the Phoenix metro's average home value of $587,423, according to Homes.com data.
Woods said interested buyers have been attracted to the size and privacy that the home offers, as well as the location.
"It's a great location near Pima and Pinnacle Peak ... It's just a hop, skip and a jump to DC Ranch Marketplace, Grayhawk and great golf courses and restaurants," he said. "It's two acres in the heart of north Scottsdale, which is hard to come by."
