Leafy option in West LA
Palms is an aptly named low-lying neighborhood in West Los Angeles. In a city lined with these trees first planted by Spanish missionaries and then made ubiquitous by subsequent city works projects, this neighborhood earns its name with Mexican and California fan palms and Canary Island date palms growing out of nearly every grassy median and sidewalk plot along its broad streets. This flat and urban neighborhood under the Southern California sun is unremarkable for all the right reasons. Those looking for a more affordable option than next-door Culver City but wishing to stay on the Westside will appreciate this centrally located community's practical amenities and utilitarian lifestyle. Charlie Clark, a local Realtor with Compass, says, "This neighborhood is a great place to live if you want to be able to get anywhere in LA."
Midcentury condos and ranch-style homes
In Palms, you can find everything from ultra-modern single-family homes to Mediterranean-inspired townhouses. The neighborhood is one of the city's denser areas, and many residents rent. At the bottom of the price range, midcentury condominium buildings offer large two-bedroom apartments for under $800,000. HOA fees typically remain well under $500 per month. For under $1 million, you can find humble cottages with three bedrooms on small lots for under $1 million. Renovated classic Los Angeles midcentury ranch-style homes with three bedrooms are listed for under $1.25 million. At the top of the market, contemporary modern new constructions with five bedrooms and amenities like solar panels and landscaped backyards with patios on huge lots are available for under $3.75 million.

Palms nightlife includes several bars, like sasquatch sanctuary Bigfoot Lodge West and karaoke spots like Boardwalk 11. For everyday needs, the neighborhood has a Trader Joe's, Sprouts Market, CVS, and other businesses.

Good place for an upcoming 20 something. Not over priced for the location. It is LA so traffic and parking will always be bad but this location helps it a little by being about 10miles from everything. I wouldn't consider raising a family here. There isn't much for safety and drivers on the streets. The kids that do live in this area are always indoors.

I love living in Palms. It's a great neighborhood close to the beach and Culver City, but has a small, community feel. Lots of good food options and convenient shopping.

Very calm but can be dirty because people tend to not pick up after their trash. There are a lot of places to eat at and explore.

Plams is a very safe and comfortable neighborhood. It is very well-maintained and there are plenty of shopping plazas, restaurants, parks, etc. However, the housing can be expensive which is a big obstacle for living in this area.
