If you're looking for a passionate agent who can deliver results and make you feel comfortable and in control the whole way through, look no further. Arlene is an absolute gem! When we decided to take the leap into homeownership here in the Bay in 2020, we knew we needed someone who'd be able to navigate us through the overwhelming process. Arlene took the time to get to know us, our history, who we are as *people*. This really helped set the foundation for our home buying experience. She journeyed with us through it all, challenged us, supported us, and stood by us even past closing!

2 years ago I wrote a review about Arlene’s professionalism and how amazing of a realtor she is by way of getting to work with her even though we did not end up getting a place. Here I am, writing another review, 2 years later and this time it’s because we got an amazing house all thanks to Arlene!

Arlene is one of those very few and rare individuals who as a realtor really cares about you and develops that strong relationship. She does her part in understanding your needs and wants and goes out of her way to find a house that you can call your home. That is exactly what happened with us. She had added us to receive MLS listings and one fine day we came across this beautiful single family house. I had seen more than 20 houses by this point in 2 years only to be disappointed by each. Arlene quickly arranged for a private viewing the very next day and we went to see the place. We knew that we wanted this house as soon as we walked in. At this point we didn’t even have a pre-approval or anything. Arlene connected us to the right contacts that got us pre-approval and underwriting in record time with great interest rate. That’s one of many specialities of Arlene as a realtor. She has connections, great connections that will come through for you to get things done! I don’t think we would’ve gotten this house had it not been for Arlene.

Now, we also used Arlene as our selling agent, for our condo. The market was pretty rough during October 2022. Arlene did her research thoroughly and provided us with recommendations on listing price which helped us make decisions. She also made sure that our condo was staged perfectly and it was so well done that I couldn’t believe that was the same condo we lived in! She worked tirelessly in following up with realtors and people who were interested in the house and ultimately making a sale of the condo just in time! She truly stood by us and helped us navigate the tough climate to sell our condo before the year end. She guaranteed us that we wouldn’t be carrying on this mortgage to another year and she kept her words :)

I would recommend Arlene to anyone looking to buy in South Bay who’s looking for a realtor with knowledge about the market and can get you the results!

With her knowledge of the market she guided us on how to get the best price. We really felt like she cared about us as much as the sale of the house.

Imagine you are making a difficult decision and are at a crossroad in life. The chips feel like they are against you.

Now imagine a person coming in that simplifies everything like a well tuned luxury car with a lifetime warranty, it just works. It not only works, it's a fast and a smooth ride.

There's actually not enough STARs on Yelp! to do justice to what Arlene Finney helped us accomplish in selling our home in the Evergreen San Jose Area.

To sum it up in a few words, there are a lot of Real Estate Agents out there, but there a very, very few who thoroughly "get it" like Arlene does. From the biggest big-ticket items to the smallest details, she is as put-together a person as I have ever met in my life, and that's no exaggeration. Every step, every line item, every detail you could possibly imagine, she is 10 steps ahead of you. She has a vision in her mind, and that vision came to reality and fruition in the timeframe she told you about, and the results exceeded expectations, which were sky high to begin with.

We actually interviewed several Real Estate Agents in making this choice to sell our home, we really took pains to thoroughly and objectively go through that choice, and it became apparent quickly that Arlene differentiated herself, knew her stuff, had all the right ideas and connections (to contractors, stagers, tax professionals, etc.), and had the experience to take on this massive challenge.

We made the right choice clearly, she took care of everything, even sweeping the front yard and prepping the flowers she bought to pretty up the entry way, just days before the Open House. We went from interviewing her in June'21, to starting significant remodeling work and prep in August'21, to having an Open House in Sep'21, to having 10 offers in hand in a week later, to closing in Oct'21.

I can honestly tell you that choosing her netted us a 25% increase in the overall sales price of the house, had we chose just any other agent. Do the math on a multi-million dollar home, and that's a significant difference, much more than saving a few dollars in Agent commissions.

And it wasn't just that, to be honest, the connections Arlene has to all other aspects of life, proved so valuable later on as well. And the friendship, probably more than anything, tells you about her as a person. I wish to continue my friendship with her for a lifetime, that's how much I respect her as a person and friend.

Thank you Arlene, for everything! You will forever be a part of our family, and our trusted agent when it comes to many things, including any Real Estate transactions we have in the future!

Arlene is AWESOME! I met Arlene randomly searching on Google, true story. Before meeting her, I had worked with 2 other realtors and I wasn’t feeling confident in the buying process. Little did we know, both realtors did not start off the process correctly based on our situation. Arlene quickly stated you must sell your house first to obtain the equity to put towards your new house. We did just that and sold our townhome in a week! That process went smoothly and I didn’t have to worry about a thing. Arlene and her team had it all taken care of and we ended up accepting an offer that blew us out of the water, totally wasn’t expecting it so we were truly thankful and blessed. Then jumping right into looking for our home, we found our dream home only after viewing 6 homes and our very first offer submitted got accepted. We couldn’t believe it!!! This is our second house buying experience through Arlene, and things just keep getting better. We had purchased our first town house through Arlene 9 years back, and were impressed with how much time Arlene spent with her customers by just trying to know their needs, explaining the market, discussing school districts, etc. The best trait she has as a realtor is that she does not push her customers to areas of her preference but understands their needs and then recommends accordingly. This time, we were in a rush because of Covid situation and the impending addition to our family. Arlene was on top of things. She ensured we got the Property viewing appointments, all Covid health forms were signed, and the most important thing is us not being stressed about anything. Arlene started off with showing us the maps with areas of our interests and school districts. She knows the South bay so well, that couple of properties that we were interested in, she mentioned, were not that great (busy street in front of the house, freeway right across the backyard, etc), so we saved time by not visiting those. After we bought the house, Arlene ensured that few fixes needed before Appraisal inspection were done by the seller. She did an amazing job interacting with our Mortgage lender, whom she knew because of her great network, even at times sending messages to the lender on our behalf, and ensuring appraisal reports and other formalities were completed in time. She knows all the people needed to take care of the house - contractors, electricians, plumbers, termite fumigation agencies, painters, etc. We were very lucky to have Arlene as our agent, and will strongly recommend her.

I just sold my house in San Jose (April 2021) and had a fantastic experience working with Arlene. I interviewed several agents in the process and am so glad that I chose Arlene. She is professional, always on time, a great negotiator and was super fun to work with! My house needed some quite a bit of work before it hit the market, and Arlene was sensitive to my budget, and only recommended the things that she was sure would have a high payback. Arlene also found great contractors and managed everything – this was super important as I live far away!

I was pretty anxious as I have owned this home for 20 years and did not know what to expect in the crazy market we are in today. In the end my house sold in 5 days for $360K over the asking price! Everything went smoothly including the mounds of paperwork that followed.

Simply put, Arlene Rocks! I very very strongly recommend her no matter what your real estate needs are!

Do yourself a favor and work with Arlene. She helped my husband and I find our perfect home in San Jose. The only downside of her being so great at what she does is that we found our house quickly so we didn't get to work with her longer!

She is exceptionally knowledgeable about the San Jose area. Holidays are important to us and we wanted to be in a neighborhood where people like to decorate and get into the spirit. She knew exactly where we had to be to get that, which is not something everyone would know.

She recommended professionals for every step of the process, from the loan to getting repairs done. Arlene is a one stop shop for all your house buying needs and questions. I plan on recommending everyone I know who is looking to buy or sell a house to work with Arlene. She made the process fun and easy, because we knew we could rely on her for anything.

There are not words to describe the service that Arlene provides. When we were looking for someone to represent us, in order to sell our condo unit in Palo Alto, we've talked to quite a few agents. Arlene's can do attitude and energy level impressed us the most. Arlene is an incredible realtor. She helped my husband and I sell our home in downtown San Jose, as well as purchase a home in the Santa Cruz mountains. She was everything you could ever ask for in a realtor for both the buy and sell side. She got our home in downtown San Jose sold in 9 days, despite a dip in the market due to Covid. We interviewed another realtor who suggested we invest over 10k in our home (which was already turn key and pretty pristine) in order to get it sold. Arlene told us there was no need and instead suggested a few minor things with no real cost to them, but that had high impact. She saved us so much time and money and still got it sold within 9 days for a good price, considering the dip in the market.

She also helped get us our dream home, even though there was actually a higher offer from another buyer!! But she worked her magic and made it happen. I feel confident that we would not have gotten this particular home without Arlene. She also took care of everything when it came to working with various vendors/contractors, going way above and beyond the level of service we received from working with a realtor previously. She is also very honest and is sincerely invested in ensuring you end up in the right home. I would highly recommend Arlene to anyone, for both buying and selling.

My wife and I had a fantastic experience working with Arlene to buy our first home - all in the midst of the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. We would recommend her highly to anyone. Our experience is completely consistent with all the other reviewers: Arlene listened to us and did not push things we did not want. She helped us articulate preferences and requirements and led us through a rapid-fire tour of the neighborhoods that best matched our preferences and our budget. She was extremely responsive, patient, and worked very hard for us.

After making a couple of offers that did not work out (we knew they were long shots), we found a third home that we liked even more than the first two, and were delighted when our offer was accepted. However, we went into contract literally the day before the Bay Area Shelter-in-Place order went into effect. This situation presented unique stresses and complications and we are very grateful to have had Arlene by our side throughout the process.

Arlene moved quickly to ensure we had addenda in place to protect us during those highly uncertain early days. As the industry figured out how to move transactions forward, Arlene diligently kept us in the loop and managed the entire process with finesse. Due to the evolving nature of the situation, at some points we seriously considered whether it would make the most sense for us to walk away from the offer. Throughout it all, Arlene was never pushy, she simply worked with us and supported us in making the right decision for us. Ultimately, to make the transaction work for us we needed to work through some unique changes and addenda to the contract and she handled it like a true professional.

We are very grateful to have connected with Arlene. Whenever we do need a realtor in the future, Arlene will be our first call!

We are now over one month in our new home and our review for Arlene is long overdue. As a little background, our family has lived in the South Bay for 4 years and up until now we have rented both apartments and homes. We became tired of the uncertainty with renting and felt as though we were ready as a family to buy. Arlene's name was given to us and as a great realtor in our area and our entire family (kids included!) met with her to begin the process. We knew right away we were in good hands and that Arlene had our best interest at heart. We honestly felt as though we were her only clients because she was incredibly responsive to our every need. Of course she was juggling multiple clients, both buyers and sellers, but we always felt as though we were her number one priority. While the search for our home was such an easy process with Arlene, we were even more impressed after we were in contract. Arlene was on top of every detail and fought for us as the buyers and always protected our interest. On the day we received the keys from Arlene, we walked into our new home only to see a lovely spread of food and drinks waiting for us. We toasted together to our new adventure and we seriously can not thank her enough. She has become someone who we will always go to for recommendations, for advice, and for support as homeowners. Arlene just finished helping my wife and me buy our first home. We were blown away by the consistently high level of service Arlene provided throughout the process.

At our first meeting, we had a frank discussion about budget and about potential neighborhoods. This was where Arlene really shone: in addition to the areas we had been considering, she recommended that we look in the Rose Garden, a lovely neighborhood that hadn't been on our radar at all. There's no way that would have happened if we'd used an agent who was less familiar with the San Jose / south bay area. At that first meeting, she also walked us through a sample purchase offer and contract so that we would know what to expect. I can't emphasize enough how helpful this was to us as first time buyers.

Next, Arlene set up an MLS search for us and gave advice about listings as they came up. When we started actually touring neighborhoods and seeing homes, we began to appreciate the full scope of her expertise -- Arlene knows the area so well that she quite literally doesn't need a GPS. At every place we visited she gave advice about how easy or difficult it would be to make the home work for us, should we decide to put in an offer. We wound up seeing lots of homes, but she never became impatient, even when I insisted on seeing places that she would've crossed off the list immediately (spoiler alert: she was right in every case).

When we did find the perfect place and decide to make it happen, Arlene had the contract ready to go the same night and got our offer accepted the next day. During the closing period, she was available 24/7 and always on top of every detail. She knew a reasonably priced guy for everything, from carpet to foundation work to pest control. The level of personal attention we received was amazing; at the time, we absolutely felt like we were her only clients (though I now know that that wasn't true at all). When we finally got the keys to our new dream home, Arlene was genuinely thrilled for us and came prepared to celebrate with champagne.
